Mark Wilson has been actively creating, developing and selling real estate projects in the Canadian market for over twenty-five years.
Early in his career Mark became interested in acquiring and developing land in resort areas. In the mid nineties he identified an opportunity to develop a large parcel of land near the base of the Blue Mountain Resort. A deal was structured, finances arranged, and key alliances formed. The publicly traded resort operator Intrawest became a joint venture partner with Mark. The science of creating and executing a unique sales and marketing program that resulted in record breaking sell-outs for the project, was an education that served Mark well in many future projects.
He continued to identify real estate opportunities and arrange the acquisitions through various forms of ownership groups and financial structures. Resort communities, land lease developments, public and private joint ventures and waterfront condominium projects all followed. Much time was spent in the southern USA researching the best themed residential resorts and seniors’ retirement developments. Close working relationships were formed with some of the top resort operators in the country. Through out all his projects and travels, his underlying strength and aptitude to identify and structure deals became more finally tuned. The vast network of contacts worldwide also proved very beneficial.
Mark is now focused on building relationships with clients that benefit from his knowledge and experience in the resort, residential and commercial markets. Buyers and sellers of resorts, commercial enterprises and homes enjoy his easy-going personality and ability to identify and negotiate the best outcome, quite often finding solutions and value that no one else thought possible.
Today Mark and his wife Wendy call Barrie home. They enjoy boating on Georgian Bay and hiking the vast array of trails in the Muskoka’s. Their children live at various locations in Canada and the USA.
